Douglas W. Hebert - Senior Vice President


In his role as Senior Vice President at FreeLinc, Mr. Hebert is responsible for leading FreeLinc's sales and marketing into the public safety and private security markets. He provides leadership and director to FreeLinc's Field Vice Presidents, determines FreeLinc's advertising and trade show strategies and provides strategic guidance to FreeLinc's public safety product development planning. He joins FreeLinc after a long and successful career in law enforcement.

Douglas W. Hebert retired November 1, 2009, as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the United States Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), after 26 years of service. Mr. Hebert began his DEA career in 1983 and was assigned to the San Diego Field Division targeting the major Mexican drug trafficking organizations along the U. S. Mexico border.

In 1986, Mr. Hebert was transferred to the Carlsbad, California, Resident Office where he investigated several high profile international smuggling organizations operating from Southeast Asia and Columbia.

In 1997, Mr. Hebert was promoted to Group Supervisor in Phoenix, Arizona, where he supervised the Mobile Enforcement Team targeting violent gangs throughout Arizona. In 1999, he supervised Arizona's Methamphetamine Investigate Task Force that dismantled organizations involved in manufacturing and distribution.

In 2001, he was reassigned to DEA headquarters in Washington, DC, as a Staff Coordinator in the Dangerous Drugs and Chemicals Section. Then in 2002, he was promoted to Section Chief in charge of Domestic Operations Mexico and Central America Section.

Mr. Hebert was reassigned to the Phoenix Field Division office in 2003 overseeing enforcement groups, task forces, money laundering operations and training. As part of a nationwide initiative he established two Tactical Diversion Task Forces in Arizona to address the diversion of pharmaceutical controlled substances throughout the state.

Prior to joining DEA, Mr. Hebert worked as a Special Agent for the Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railway Company in New Mexico and Arizona and as a law enforcement ranger for the National Park Service at Grand Canyon National Park.

He is a graduate of Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master's Degree in Education.
