Four Star General William L. “Spider” Nyland USMC (Ret.), Director

During his active duty in the US Marine Corps, General Nyland served most recently as the Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps. Prior to that, he was Deputy Commandant for Marine Aviation (2001-02), Deputy Commandant for Programs & Resources (Chief Financial Officer) for the Marine Corps (2000-01), Commanding General, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing (1998-2000), Deputy Commanding General of II Marine Expeditionary Force (II MEF) (1997-98), and Deputy Director for Force Structure and Resources, J-8, Joint Staff (1995-1997).
With over 37 years of progressively diverse and challenging military leadership experience, General Nyland has demonstrated insightful leadership and expertise. His in-depth knowledge of joint and coalition military operations and doctrine, combined with operational command and decision making, has helped him acquire exceptional skills in strategic planning, resource management, communications and team building, acquisition policy, financial management and analysis, requirements determination, systems integration, and international relations.
Robert Fealy, Director

Mr. Fealy was a Director of Aura Communications Technology, and is currently President and Chief Operating Officer of The Duchossois Group and Managing Director of Duchossois Technology Partners. Mr. Fealy also serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of AMX, Brivo Systems, Milestone AV Technologies.
He serves on the Board of Directors and Executive, Nominating and Government, and Strategy Committees of Churchill Downs, Inc., a NASDAQ listed company, and on the Board of Directors of The Chamberlain Group and Pella Corporation. He is a founding Board member of the Illinois Venture Capital Association and Treasurer of the IVCA-PAC. He also is a member of the Investment Committee of the Illinois Innovation Accelerator Fund which, in conjunction with the Chicagoland Entrepreneurial Center, provides funding to start-up companies in Illinois and surrounding regions.

As Chairman and President of FreeLinc Mr. Bailey serves as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. He directs all business development activity including public safety, federal agency, commercial and international. Mr. Bailey also supports FreeLinc’s strategic relationships for military business development. Mr. Bailey handles all operational aspects of the company including client services, marketing, advertising, financial reporting and investor relations.
Mr. Bailey is Founder and the Chief Executive Officer of First Choice Professionals, LLC (www.FCP.com). FCP is a leading provider of information technology consulting services to the healthcare market. He also serves as Director for SpinGo, LLC (www.spingo.com)
Prior to FreeLinc and FCP, Mr. Bailey was founder of First Choice Consulting, which he successfully grew and sold to Park City Solutions. At Park City Solutions, Mr. Bailey served as Senior Vice President and member of the Executive Management Team.
Actively involved in the information technology industry for more than 30 years, Mr. Bailey’s experience includes operational and leadership roles in the consulting and information technology industry both as a vendor and private consulting firm. Having received his educational training in accounting and advanced public speaking, he has spent his entire career in technology.
Mr. Bailey served as Commencement Speaker at his Alma Mater, Eastern Illinois University; he has participated on numerous community volunteer agencies and was recently selected to participate in the wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery.
Douglas H. Dobyns, Director
As Executive Vice President of Product Development, Mr. Dobyns’ responsibilities include engineering, product development, and manufacturing setup and process controls. Doug has a wide range of experience in electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing design.
Before joining FreeLinc, Mr. Dobyns worked as a Senior Consulting Electrical Engineer for Flowserve Corporation’s Advanced Product Development Group specializing in research and development of electro-mechanical industrial process controls. With an education in electrical engineering, computer science, and intelligent system design, he has extensive experience in discrete and system level design including, low-power systems design, mixed signal systems design, and embedded/distributed control systems design.
Mr. Dobyns has also successfully founded and sold a service-based franchise model with sales that tripled for three consecutive years before its sale. Prior to that, he founded a successful business in the radio controlled hobby industry — providing experience in business management, marketing, sales, manufacturing, and product development.
James P. Miller, Director
A sales professional and serial entrepreneur, Mr. Miller has been creating and building businesses for 32 years. He began his career at Oregon Business Magazine, a startup business publication that grew into a successful, award winning publication. He then joined Time Systems, a fledgling company that pioneered the development of the personal day planner and time-management system. Mr. Miller’s sales, public speaking and training expertise helped catapult Time Systems from a local Arizona startup to a national leader in the industry. The company was later sold to Franklin Covey.
With a passion for success and a determination to push for more, Mr. Miller co-founded Premier Floors and Interiors and launched it into a thriving business that later sold to The Home Depot.
He is presently co-founder and senior vice president of Environmental Pharmaceuticals, a DEA certified reverse logistics company that helps pharmacies and manufacturers handle the return and disposal of unused and expired pharmaceuticals. Mr. Miller is responsible for business development and strategic partnerships.
